Floquet formulation nonlinear optics
WebMay 19, 2024 · Finally, blending Floquet physics with nonlinear optics has recently led to the first observation of topological solitons in twisted waveguide arrays . It is worth remarking however that temporal and spatial degrees of freedom are not interchangeable, due to the different causality relations between impinging and scattered waves underlying the ... WebWe present a Floquet scheme for the ab-initio calculation of nonlinear optical properties in extended systems. This entails a reformulation of the real-time approach based on the dynamical Berry-phase polarisation (Attaccalite and Grüning 2013 Phys. Rev. B 88 1–9) and retains the advantage of being non-perturbative in the electric field.

WebUnder strong light irradiation, materials show electric polarization P or current J = d P / d t, which are nonlinear functions of the electric field E.These nonlinear optical responses … WebApr 8, 2024 · In this work, we introduce a new class of amplifiers that encode the information in the Floquet modes of the system. Such Floquet-mode amplifiers prevent information leakage and overcome the trade-off between quantum efficiency (QE) and bandwidth. Crucially, Floquet-mode amplifiers strongly suppress the nonlinear forward-backward …
