WebSanderson takes an effort to make sure every book he writes doesn't require you to read the entire cosmere. You would appreciate some things more but honestly they will only increase your appreciation 10% not because the tie ins aren't miindblowing, but because each book is just that much more mindblowing. Read whatever you like. Web14 apr. 2024 · Wow. This book is so much fun. I am 100 pages in and it feels so fresh and different, not that Mistborn or Stormlight Archive are stale, but this book has reinvigorated my appreciation for the Cosmere. Way of Kings was an epic journey and Mistborn is one of my favorite series of all time. Warbreaker is so excitingly new though.

Like others have mentioned, it doesn't have the scale of the other series and is very much a standalone book, but what does it for me is the tone is so different from Sanderson's usual writing.
