It will rapidly remove phosphates and silicates from both freshwater and saltwater and will not release them back into your aquarium. WebPhosNet™ cannot be regenerated once it has been used in aquarium filtration. There are rumors in the fishkeeping hobby that this type of media can be regenerated by baking in an oven. This is a holdover from when a similar type of media is used in industrial air filtration to absorb moisture - it does not work in aquarium filtration.
